Happy Birthday America!!!

For our first 4th of July in Minnesota, we went to the parade in Edina. We figured it would be just a cute little parade like back home. You know, bikes decorated up....kids in wagons...that sort of thing. Nope, not here. Maybe it was because the parade was in Edina (we have been told that stands for "Every Day I Need Attention") but this parade had it all and then some. We left before it was over....after nearly 2 hours. We saw everything from men dancing Irish jigs to clowns from horses to Ronald McDonald. The neat thing is they had lots of Veterans and military vehicles. The veterans always came down the street to a round of applause. Makes me feel good, in the world of little respect that we live in, that people still give the men and women who keep our country safe respect. The kids had a great time. Hopefully this will start a new tradition in our family for the 4th.

Dad, this picture is for you....the closest to a "Minnetonka Indian" I have been yet!!
