Couldn't have come at a better time....

A BIG thank you goes out to Ga-Ga and Granddaddy. They sent the kids care packages that we received today. It was perfect timing!!! Both the kids were so excited!!!!

Maddie is still under the weather. She spiked a fever yesterday evening and ran it most of the night. I am very cautious when it comes to fevers since Sam's febrile seizure last year. I know that it was Sam and not Maddie that had the seizure. Whichever kid, the image still haunts me. Because of Maddie's fever, she slept in the floor of our room on her handy dandy portable mattress. It was great fun to hurtle a sleeping child and a zillion stuffed animals, that "had" to sleep in Mommy and Daddy's room too. We wouldn't want a lonely stuffed animal, now would we? Maddie is still feeling puny and cranky today.

Apparently being cranky is contagious even though Maddie's sinus infection is not. Sam and Emma (the cat) have both caught a bad case of the crankys. Emma apparently wasn't happy about Sam wanting her to play Thomas' with him. When approached she let out a loud hiss and actually ran away. Usually the kids are lucky if she just opens an eye at them.

Then, we had to run out and get some more Motrin (a must have with a fever) and Sam was not happy about it. He fussed the whole time and didn't want to get in the van. The conversation getting back in the van went like this.

Mommy: (to Sam) I'm going to put my grump in the car now.

Sam: No, No, NO dump Me's.

Mommy: Not DUMP Sam, I called you a GRUMP.

Sam: No, No, uh-uh, Me's no dump....Sissy a dump.

Maddie: (starting to cry...her Motrin was due) I AM NOT a dump. Mommy, tell Sam I am not a dump.

Mommy: (Huge Sigh) Let's just go.

Sam: (as the van is pulling out of the parking lot and very quietly) Uh-huh, Sissy a dump.

Great fun in the Sheek household today!!

Please be in prayer that our house sells quickly. We need a place of our own. Apartment life is great when are single or newlyweds minus the kids. However, the lifestyle here is not conducive to children. In all honesty, they see things that I wouldn't want them to encounter on a daily basis. One such situation went like this:

(Every Thursday they have "Thursdays at the Bluffs"....meaning food out by the pool for supper. Very nice. Last Thursday it was Mexican. Sam, by the way, LOVED tacos. Anyhoo, the food is great their choice of beverages does not take into account my children)

Maddie: (telling the man in charge of the beverages) I want the silver can of fizzy drink, please. My Mommy LOVES that kind of fizzy drink.

Man: Laughing

Mommy: (checking out why man is laughing) On, no Maddie, that uh....isn't Diet Coke, baby. Let's see if they have some water.

Man: Sure the "fizzy" drink Mommy loves is Diet Coke

Mommy: (all shades of red) Really the only "fizzy" drink I drink is Diet Coke or Pepsi. Can I just have a bottle of water please?

Let's just say the "fizzy" drink Maddie wanted wasn't made by either Coca-Cola or Pepsi.

We hope everyone has a great July 4th. Take time to pray for the military who are and have served our country to keep it safe.
