Cards for Elizabeth

UPDATE:

Elizabeth came through surgery with flying colors. There is evidence that it was successful and that it will give her a much better quality of life without the horrible headaches she has suffered from her whole life. God is good. God does hear and answer our prayers. Thank you for your prayers and your cards!

Dear sweet readers,

I am coming to you again with a request for prayer. However, unlike the request for prayers for Stellan (which by the way worked visit http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ to see how he is doing), this is a prayer request that touches our family personally.

My sweet 16 year old cousin, Elizabeth Harrell, is undergoing brain surgery Monday, May 4th. She has a condition where her skull is too small, thus pushing her brain stem into her spinal column. During her surgery, they will actually cut out a piece of her skull to allow her "growing" room.

Elizabeth is a beautiful vibrant 16 year old. She loves animals and hanging out with her friends. My dad has always loving called her "Sally".

Her family is an amazing strong Christian family. Their faith runs strong and deep. They are asking for prayers everyday at 12pm from now until the surgery.

When I think back to high school and all the struggles I went through, I can't imagine adding the anxiety of brain surgery to the mix. Elizabeth should be worried about what dress to wear to her prom (which is on Saturday before the the surgery), not about an upcoming surgery.

In order to encourage Elizabeth, we are setting out to get 1,000 cards sent to her. They don't need to be long winded....just a simple praying for you will do.

Could you spare a few minutes and a stamp? Could you take some time out of your busy life to uplift a sweet Christian teenager?

Her address is Elizabeth Harrell
216 Timberbrook Trail
State Road, NC 28676

Please spread the word and let's get 1,000 cards to Elizabeth!!!

Prayer is powerful!!!

Thank you so much!

Spring in review.....

EASTER-

Our first Easter in Minnesota was spent with friends and family. Our good friends Aaron, Salli, Natalie and Jackson came over on Easter eve for a good ol' fashion good egg hunt and a huge Easter dinner. Also, Wade's cousin Alicia and her husband Derek came to join us as well.

Easter Egg hunt in Bloomington:
The Saturday before Easter we went to an Easter Egg hunt with Sara (who works with Wade) and her son Joseph. It was more of an Easter Egg gather since none of the eggs here hid, but covering the ground.

The Sheeks came to visit........
We were so excited that The Sheeks were able to come and visit with us for a few days in April. The kids had such a GREAT time. For weeks before they came, they continually asked when they were coming.
The weather didn't cooperate with us, it snowed the first day they were here. Then, it was cold and windy. But the kids had so much fun just playing in the basement with Grandma and Papa.
Despite the weather, we were able to go to the park (for 5 minutes) and to the MOA (Legoland, rides, and Rainforest Cafe).
