Minnesota Swimmin'

Maddie and Sam really wanted to go swimming today. Mommy bought them great new "watering cans" at Walmart and they HAD to use them today. Keep in mind that here in the Twin Cities it is a balmy 65 with a brisk breeze blowing (in our GA minds that is about late Feb- early March weather).

So, we packed up lunches and headed to the pool at the apartments (Mommy knew better than to drive somewhere....it was too cold).

Maddie and Sam were very excited about eating lunch and anticipating the pool!!

Sam was very proud of his "swimming hat". Due to the wind, the hat didn't last longer than the one picture I took.

Maddie: See Mommy the water isn't cold (true the water isn't the problem it is air!!)

Sam is starting to turn a little blue, but keeps playing nonetheless.

Maddie: Maybe it is kind-of cold!!! When will summer get here?
Mommy: It is summer, but a different kind of summer than in Georgia.
Maddie: You need to tell God to turn off the wind and turn on the sun.
Mommy: Amen to that!

Sam decides he is "told and twet" and wants to get warmed up.

Maddie soon follows as she snuggles in her cover-up and towel begging to go home.

As we are leaving the pool Maddie comments, "See, told you it wasn't cold" -said between chattering teeth and purple lips.
Side Note: Maddie had her first day of summer "camp" today at the LifeTime Fitness. She LOVED it (as mommy lets out the breath she held all morning waiting to see the reaction from Maddie). Thank you Lord!!!! Finally a ray of hope for this displaced southern family!!!
